The NYPD released a chilling surveillance video Friday morning, Sept. 2, that captured a Rosedale home invasion as it began last month.
A gunman can be seen running up to a woman at the front of her home in the vicinity of 249th Street and 147th Avenue with his firearm trained on her, as his accomplice comes up behind him on the night of Wednesday, Aug. 10.
The woman had just returned to her residence after shopping and was overwhelmed by the gunman who displayed a black automatic firearm and said, “don’t yell, just open the door,” according to the NYPD.
Fearing for her safety, the victim complied, and once inside the victim was struck in the face, her hands and feet were tied together, and the suspects located a safe and removed $19,000 in cash and $12,000 worth of jewelry, police said.
The men also took the victim’s Apple iPhone 12 before fleeing the scene. The woman was able to free herself and saw the suspects jump into a white Toyota SUV, which was last seen heading northbound on 249th Street, police said.
The victim sustained minor pain and swelling to her face and refused medical attention at the crime scene.
The NYPD described the two men as 6 feet tall. The gunman wore dark glasses, a surgical mask, a dark-colored baseball cap, dark-colored pants, dark-colored sneakers, and a dark hooded sweatshirt, with the letters NYC in white across the chest. The second suspect wore dark-colored pants, a black T-shirt, and a dark-colored hooded jacket.
