Italian moto-gear manufacturer Spidi has a new set of adventure riding gear on the market priced mid-range, and available for either men or women. The Crossmaster series has jackets and pants both, and is a three-layer system aimed at multi-season comfort.

The Crossmaster Jacket has a 600D polyester shell to protect you from road rash, with two mesh panels on front and two exhaust vents on back to circulate air. As you’d expect, that makes it hard to make the shell waterproof, so the jacket’s waterproofing comes from an internal liner made of “5k/5k H2Out® breathable and waterproof fabric,” which is something most of us probably aren’t familiar with, but probably does the same basic job as other breathable liners. There’s also a thermal liner. The jacket comes with two waterproof pockets, and four other pockets.

As far as protection, there’s Level 1 padding (Warrior Lite in the shoulders, Forcetech in the elbows). The jacket zips to your pants if you want, for more safety, and it comes with Scotchlite reflectors for visibility at night. There is a pocket for a back protector, but it is sold separately. In the EU, the jacket carries an AA safety rating. Pricing is $399 US for the male or female version of the jacket.

There’s a set of riding pants to accompany the jacket, again coming in male and female versions. These are a two-layer system, with the same waterproof fabric for a rain liner, but no thermal liner. There’s Multitech padding in the hips and knees (the knees are adjustable for fit). Like the jacket, the Crossmaster pants come with large mesh panels on front and exhaust vents on back for airflow. Pricing is $299 for both male and female versions of the gear—more details and pix at those links! This new gear is in stock at retailers, unlike some other equipment that’s been getting hard to find lately …as always these days, blame the supply chain!
