Professional Tool Reviews for Pros

Safety vests function as an integral part of construction PPE. Milwaukee safety vests now include a lineup with Surveyor’s Safety Vests and Mesh Safety Vests. They even have additional offerings in their High Visibility Safety Vests line. They’ve designed the ANSI-compliant vests to keep users safe without adding additional weight or heat to the mix.

Milwaukee has designed the Surveyor’s Safety Vests with full, tear-resistant woven construction. This construction provides the sort of durability that stands up to jobsite abuse. And, with 27 pockets, the Surveyor’s Vests are made to carry more.

The Milwaukee Surveyor’s Vests are Type R Class 2 Rated. Milwaukee recommends this line for working in environments requiring better visibility, when working around heavy machinery, or when working around traffic. They come in both yellow and orange varieties.

The Milwaukee Surveyor’s High Vis Safety Vests come in Small, Medium, Large, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL, and 5XL sizes. You can pick them up for $69.97 each.

The Milwaukee Mesh Safety Vests are constructed with moisture-wicking, lightweight, breathable mesh to keep you dry and cool.

Milwaukee recommends the Mesh vests for work in hot environments that require additional visibility, like working around heavy machinery and in traffic. They are available with breakaway functionality and come in yellow and orange color variations.

The Milwaukee Mesh Safety Vests come in yellow and orange, as well as Class 2 and Class 3 varieties. You even have the options of CSA-certified and breakaway models. Milwaukee offers the vest in Small, Medium, Large, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL, and 5XL sizes. They range from $17.97 to $22.97.

Milwaukee designed these High Visibility Safety Vests to carry more. They feature quick internal size adjustment capabilities that let you wear it over a T-shirt in the summer and over a jacket when it gets colder outside.

The expansion to the line comes by way of adding Class 3 Rated models. These sleeved varieties come in orange and yellow and offer a solution that provides the maximum amount of background fabric and reflective striping available for working in conditions where being seen is important.

The Milwaukee Class 3 High Visibility Safety Vest line comes in the traditional yellow or orange and in the size variations you’ll find with the other safety vest lines. They retail for $22.97.

Milwaukee designed their Power Utility Dedicated AR/FR High-Vis Safety Vests to address several key issues. First, with ten pockets, including pen pockets, a chest pocket with closure, and an internal pocket, it carries more. Second, they provide Arc Rated (AR) and Flame Resistant (FR) safety designations and features for linemen. These AR/FR High Visibility Safety Vests are the first dedicated offering in Power Utility for PPE.

The vests come in Category 1 Woven WESTEX® DH by Miliken® DH material and a more breathable Mesh anti-static GLENGUARD® material. A Breakaway version is also available for both vests, designed with five tearaway points located on the shoulders, sides, and front. In this way, the ANSI-compliant Milwaukee AR/FR Hi-Viz vest can break away when caught or snagged.

The Milwaukee AR/FR High-Vis Safety Vests come in the Hi-Vis yellow and in sizes ranging from S/M to 4XL/5XL. They retail between $99.97 and $159.97 depending on the size and style.

As you can tell, lots of options exist for vests—from mesh to pocketed to high-viz and AR/FR rated. While Hi-Viz clothing always seems like a great idea, other options might stand out as convenient or simply necessary.

We recommend paying attention to the presence of ID pockets that can provide functionality and convenience over a lanyard. In fact, that might even eliminate a potential snag hazard. We also like ample pockets, provided you tend to carry items like tablets and writing instruments around the jobsite.

Overall, with so many options, buying a safety vest has never been easier.
