Lee’s new capsule collection is an example of how fashion, in some ways, never changes.

The men’s and women’s Fall 2021 collection spotlights the heritage Chetopa fabric. Originally created in 1951 by the Kontoor Brands-owned label to meet evolving workwear apparel needs, the Chetopa fabric was touted as the “toughest twill available” long before eco-conscious consumers considered the lifespan of their garments.

The fabric comes full circle this fall in trendy yet timeless utility staples like wide-leg pants and Lee’s signature Union-Alls one-pieces. The fabric, however, is updated with comfort stretch, Repreve recycled polyester fibers and TruTemp 365 thermal comfort technology that cools the wearer on warm days and insulates warmth in chillier temps.

“Lee was the leader in American workwear for decades, and our Chetopa twill was a key product. With this collection, we’re leaning into our history by reintroducing this fabric and heritage styles to give these pieces an edge that speaks to a younger consumer,” said Betty Madden, Lee vice president of global design. “The vintage but fresh feel will enable wearers to create their own looks.”

Inspired by trends of the ’50s and today, the tonal separates and Union-Alls for both men and women feature heritage details iconic to Lee with a blend of street and work elements. Khaki, harbor blue and gas station green are used throughout.

The women’s range also includes high-rise pleated “flood pants” and a service jacket with branded buttons, signature stitching and a pencil holder for practicality. A loose crop tapered pant and lightweight zip jacket modeled after Lee’s classic Eisenhower jacket round out the men’s line.

The collection is available now online and retails for $65-$80.
