Video shows yobs in police uniforms on The Scotlands estate in Wolverhampton

This is the moment two yobs lark around wearing police uniforms - stolen from a squad car on a crime-hit Wolverhampton estate. The laughing pair pose in police jackets and a female officer's hat before giving each other piggy-backs.

The scenes are said to be part of the near-riot involving 50 people which broke out on The Scotlands estate on Ruskin Road in Wolverhampton on Wednesday night (July 20). Four police officers were hurt after missiles were thrown at them during the disorder.

Two police cars and a police van were also damaged in the incident. A number of videos have emerged showing the wide-scale trouble, including kids brandishing knives.

In the latest clip, a masked bare-chested man can be seen hauling a rucksack out of the back of a damaged police car and onto the roadside. Two men are then seen rummaging through the contents, which includes files.

One man then appears wearing a police woman's hat and a jacket and gleefully takes a selfie as he struts around. In the next shot, two men, one wearing a fluorescent officer's jacket, give each other piggy backs.

West Midlands Police said it was aware of the footage that has been circulating online. A spokesman for the force said: "We responded to a large disorder in Ruskin Road in Wolverhampton just before 5pm yesterday (Wednesday). Around 50 people were involved.

"A man and a woman received minor injuries to their head and back respectively. In addition, four police officers were injured after missiles were thrown at them. Two police cars and a police van, were also damaged.

"We are investigating after items of uniform were stolen from one of the police vehicles. We’ve not arrested anyone so far, but have been speaking to witnesses to understand what caused the disorder and the events that followed."
