DriRider Nordic 4 Airflow Jacket (product review)

DriRider’s Nordic 4 Airflow jacket is purpose built for sports touring, but is versatile enough to use for adventure riding as well. We’ve spent the last few months well and truly putting this product to the test, on the bitumen and in the dirt.

Featuring a removeable waterproof/thermal lining that’s perfect for cold winter morning rides, the Nordic 4 Airflow jacket’s collar also sports a push button stud to allow the rider to secure a neck warmer inside the jacket to keep you extra warm.

The removeable liner is secured by a zip in mechanism and two buttons in the sleeves, which makes removing and adding the liner a relatively easy task that takes no more than a couple of minutes.

With warmer riding weather, the liner can be removed, and the ventilation system takes over. It does a great job of keeping you cool. We tested this first hand in 30+ degree temperatures on a recent 7-day trip to Cape York in far North Queensland.

The ventilation setup on the Nordic 4 Airflow jacket works a treat, and allows a good solid stream of airflow across the rider’s chest and torso. This versatility makes it a year round proposition for riders.

DriRider’s Nordic 4 Airflow jacket has an outer shell constructed from Maxtex Polyester 600d and Cowhide leather, with CE armour in the elbows and shoulders. We had a small off in the sand during our trip and landed safely. There’s a high density foam back pad too.

Having racked up literally hours and hours of testing, the jacket has shown itself to be sturdy, with no visible fraying or tears to be seen. For added comfort, the Nordic 4 features comfort stretch on the inner arms and action stretch material in the shoulders and elbows.

There are also arm, hip and waist adjustment points to ensure the jacket fits the rider correctly, and a waist connection zip for pants. The latter allows you to hook DriRider’s range of touring gear together.

DriRider’s Nordic 4 Airflow jacket also comes with good storage options, including three large external pockets (two at the front and one on the back), as well as two inner pockets. It features safety stitching and a reflective print for added visibility when riding at night.

It’s available in two colours; Black (as tested) and Black/Cobalt Blue. Sizing starts from small, and goes through to 8XL. Available from all good motorcycle accessory outlets, you should be able to pick one up for around $369.95.
