She's shooting for her first leading television role.

And Lily Allen got stuck into her major new project on Thursday, picking up litter for scenes filmed along Margate beach.

The Smile singer was dressed in short dungarees and a hi-vis vest for the shoot in the Kent sunshine for her new comedy Dreamland.

The star, 37, flashed her legs in the denim playsuit, teamed with trainers and an oversized bow in her hair.

She carried a large pink bucket around with her litter picker as she cleared up beer bottles strewn along the promenade, alongside her co-stars.

She then changed into a grey graphic t-shirt, teamed with matching denim shorts before bundling up in a puffer jacket.

The comedy series also shot a hen party sequence on Thursday, featuring a group of women dressed up in racy nurses uniform as they charged along the beach.  

The series is created by Catastrophe's Sharon Horgan and is based on Sky Arts' short Morgana Robinson's Summer, and sees Lily playing a woman attending her sister's baby shower in the seaside village.

Lily is the daughter of the Comic Strip's Keith Allen and made her acting debut in a 1998 episode of The Yob, which also starred her father.

Best known as a popular singer, she was also recently nominated for an Olivier Award for her starring role in her London West End debut in 2:22 A Ghost Story.

It comes after the singer's fans were left unimpressed after she was referred to as 'David Harbour's wife' in a viral TikTok clip.

The couple have both carved out successful careers for themselves but it appears some younger social media users have not heard of the Not Fair hitmaker.

A TikTok user shared a clip of Lily Allen's debut single Smile along with text reading: 'Y'all I just found out that David Harbour's wife sings this song.'

Many fans were not happy with Lily - who has sold millions of records worldwide - only being referred to as her husband's wife.

In response to the clip, one Twitter user wrote: 'How dare people refer to Lily Allen as 'David Harbour's wife'.'

Another said: 'Lily Allen literally raised an entire generation and now she's being demoted to just David Harbour's wife?! Put some respect on her name.'
